After nearly 20 years I’ve come to the decision to retire from professional football. A game that has given me everything really. I’ve had the best job in the world as for as I’m concerned and I feel truly privileged to have lived the football life I dreamt of as a little kid growing up in the south of Sweden. A few special mentions and thank yous; To Landskrona BoIS for making me fall in love with the game and given me the education and tools needed. To NEC Nijmegen who took me in as a young player, made me feel ever so welcome in my new country and gave me a stepping stone to a bigger occasion. To West Bromwich Albion. 9 years and some 200 games in the most beautiful league. A big part of my heart will always beat for England, the Black Country and the Hawthorns - thank you for everything. To Djurgården IF for allowing me to experience the awesome atmosphere at Sofialäktaren, Slakthuskurvan and the rest of Tele2 arena. To Wigan Athletic FC for given me the chance to end my career in the country where my football heart lies. To the Swedish national team for given me the opportunity to represent my country - the greatest of honour. To referees, opponents, coaches, physios, staff and fans for allowing me to express myself in my own way. Sometimes just, sometimes not. To my mom and dad for their constant support and encouragement. To my daughter for putting a smile on my face when times were tough and for teaching me to see football and life in a bigger perspective. And finally to my teammates for the countless memories, on and off the pitch, for having my back and for charing this incredible adventure with me. Nothing but love Thank you and farewell beautiful game
